ABOUT

Tyler teaches animation and digital media at Huntington University.  Previously, he has taught at George Fox University, Villa Maria College, Oklahoma Baptist University, and ITT Technical Institute.  In addition to teaching, he freelances and has worked full time in digital media arts and video production for over 15 years.  Areas of expertise include video production, 3D animation, motion graphics, digital illustration and computer visualization.  Tyler has earned his MFA in animation and visual effects from the Academy of Art University as well as a B.S. degree in digital media arts from Huntington University.  While earning his graduate degree, he interned under famed animator, Keith Lango.  Outside of higher education, his professional roles have included creative video director, multimedia specialist, visualization designer, and lead animator.  As a freelance multimedia specialist, Tyler has created media for companies including Fisher-Price, Hasbro, Buffalo Bills, American Greetings, Depuy Orthopaedics, Wargaming.net, Tree of Life Bookstores, and Sterling Publishing.

Achievements:

• Panelist for presentation at the BEA National Conference titled, "Professional Mentors & Student Apprentices"

• Motion graphics for “Hidden Beauty: Tokyo”, which won a ‘Best of Festival’ award at the 2017 BEA Festival of Media Arts

• Production credits in upcoming short animated film, “Them Greeks” directed by Spyros Tsiounis 

• Production credits in short animated film, “Poutnik” directed by Keith Lango. Nominated for Best Animated Film for the FilmFest International - Berlin 2016.  Accepted into 2015 San Jose International Short Film Festival

• Animation showcased in the Paul William Beltz Family Art Gallery in Buffalo, NY

• 3D graphics and animation showcased in Wargaming.net exhibition booth at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, CA

• Won Gold Addy® in the 2013 Fort Wayne American Advertising Awards for Directing “Steel City” for Huntington University

• Artwork and animation showcased in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery in Huntington, IN

• Won Huntington University’s Communications Department Award, 2008

• Short Animated Film won first place in the TV Entertainment Feature category of the 2007 College State Awards for the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters

• Short Animated Film presented in Wheaton College’s “LEAST” Festival, 2006
